Good questions, straight answers

Are You Licensed and Insured?

Are your plumbers employees or subcontractors?

Our plumbers are part of the one local team, not a mixed bag of subcontractors dispatched from an app. That means consistent standards on every job and someone who's directly accountable if anything needs revisiting.

Are you insured if something goes wrong during the job?

Yes. We're licensed and insured for water and gas work, so you're covered if something unexpected happens while we're on site. It's part of why homeowners trust us with jobs inside an occupied home, not just outdoor repairs.

Do you provide proof of licensing on request?

Absolutely. Our NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C is checkable, and we're happy to show it on arrival if you ask. You shouldn't have to take a tradesperson's word for it, so we make it easy to confirm.

How long does the Lifetime Labour Warranty last?

The Lifetime Labour Warranty covers our workmanship for as long as you need it, not a fixed one or two-year window. If a repair we carried out fails down the track, we come back and fix it at no extra labour charge.

Availability and Booking

What counts as an emergency?

Anything causing damage right now or putting your household at risk: burst pipes, flooding, no hot water, a blocked toilet that's the only one in the house, or any smell of gas. If water or gas is actively a problem, treat it as urgent and call.

Can you give me an honest timeframe when I call?

Yes. When you ring, we talk through what's happening and give you a realistic idea of when someone will be with you, rather than a vague promise. We'd rather tell you straight than have you guessing.

What if I call and it's not actually an emergency?

That's fine. We'll still talk it through and tell you honestly whether it can wait or needs same-day attention. Plenty of calls turn out to be routine repairs once we understand what's going on, and we'll say so.

Do you answer the phone overnight?

Yes. We're open 24 hours, and a real person picks up the phone whatever time you call, not a recording. Plumbing problems don't check the clock, and neither do we.

Cost and Payment

Do you charge for travel time?

No. The $0 Call Out Fee covers us coming to you anywhere across Five Dock and Canada Bay, travel included. What you pay for is the work itself, quoted fairly before we start.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

No, it's $0. We'd rather have you call us when something's wrong than have you hesitate over an upfront fee just to get someone to look at it.

How is fair, upfront pricing different from a standard quote?

A standard quote can still move once a job is underway. Fair, upfront pricing means we agree the price with you before any work starts, and that's what you pay, whether the job is quicker or trickier than expected once we're into it.

Do you charge more for older homes or hard-to-reach pipes?

Pricing reflects the actual job in front of us, and older Five Dock homes with original galvanised or clay pipework can take more care to access safely. We'll always explain that upfront before agreeing a price, never after the fact.

What's Different About Five Dock

What's the most common plumbing emergency in Five Dock?

Burst pipes and sudden hot water failures top the list here, largely down to the suburb's older galvanised supply lines and ageing hot water units. Federation and post-war homes make up a big share of the housing stock, and pipework that old eventually gives out.

Are strata buildings in Five Dock more prone to hot water outages?

Newer apartment developments around Garfield Street and the former EnergyAustralia site share hot water systems across multiple units, so one fault can affect several households at once. We treat a shared-system outage as urgent for exactly that reason.

Does Five Dock's soil affect underground pipes?

Yes. Much of Five Dock sits on reactive Ashfield Shale clay, which shifts as it dries and swells with rain. Older clay and earthenware drain lines crack and move with that ground movement, which is a common cause of recurring blockages.

Does heavy rain cause extra problems in Five Dock?

The higher parts of the suburb generally drain fine, but lower riverfront streets near Five Dock Bay can see stormwater surcharge in a heavy downpour. If your street floods in storms, it's worth having drains checked before winter each year.
